The British Empire mobilised 9,000,00 (men and women, of whom 1,114,804 were killed and nearly 2,000,000 wounded. Of these 584,994 have identified burials and cremations and 529,808 have no known grave.
Each entry shows the full name of the soldier, place of birth, place of enlistment, place of residence if different from that of enlistment ( ), his army number, rank (Pte=Private etc.,), how they died, place of death ( F = France and Flanders, including Italy), date of death.
